    California, Here I Come

Just GIVE me an excuse to travel to California, and I'll be there in a heartbeat. So far, I've seen a good amount of California, and I always love what I see. It's such a huge state, and every part is different. And there is so much more I want to see! But let me tell you a little bit about what I've experienced so far, as well as what I'm looking forward to. San Francisco: My job of the last few years has been headquartered in SF to my delight. Because of this, I get out to

New Orleans and Austin, Texas - July 17-24, 2017

This trip was especially cool - not only did I get to revisit an old friend, NOLA, but I got the chance to see some friends in Austin while being introduced to a brand new city. New Orleans I get to every year, and even if it weren't for work, I would try to make that happen because it is just the best. The food, drinks and vibe never disappoint. Is it ungodly hot in July? Of course it is, and so was Texas, but whatever, it's the south and it's expected in summer. The first f

How to do the Official Oktoberfest in Munich

How can you participate in the world's biggest party? It's actually pretty easy, it just takes some planning. Is it worth going to Munich when your hometown probably does Oktoberfest celebrations during the entire month of October? Is it really that much better? YES, yes it is. Trust me, I was once you, and now I've gone and would love to go again. Picture a huge state fair, then add drinking, and tons of people from all over the world- and you have Oktoberfest. Here is how I

Washington State - Seattle and Fall City: June 30-July 4, 2017

Boom there it is- Mount Rainier! It doesn't even look real when you are looking at it, it's just larger than life. This mountain was in the background of our entire trip to Washington State over the July 4th holiday weekend, which is a good thing because that means great weather and clear skies, which doesn't happen as often as Washingtonians would like apparently. My friends who we visited commented that sometimes you forget the mountains are even part of the skyline, becaus

England and Ireland: April 22-30, 2017

A few things prompted this trip - our friends from Philly had moved temporarily to Twyford, England for 6 months and we missed them, and we had a separate group of friends from Philly who wanted to check out Ireland. So being the resourceful couple we are- we turned a couple trips into one big trip and killed all the birds with one stone. Here is how we managed to do it all: April 22: Arrived on an overnight flight into Heathrow from Philly. Our friend had arranged for a car

    Portland, Maine: June 6-8, 2017

Weekend Trip Alert! Let me start off by saying- no shots to Maine, but it wasn't on my list of must go places in the US. However, I was pleasantly surprised by Portland, and I've heard nothing but great things about Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park, so now I might even go back! Look at me, becoming a fan of Maine! My trip to Portland was brought on by work, and not wanting to return home after just a day or two, my husband flew up to Portland and we decided to stay the weekend

    Colorado: Estes Park/RMNP - Red Rocks/Golden: May 26-31, 2017

Just LOOK at that scenery! Colorado is gorgeous, and end of May was the perfect time to go visit, do some hiking, and check out a concert at Red Rocks, and I feel like we didn't even scratch the surface! There are places like Breckenridge, Crested Butte, Vail, Telluride, and various Hot Springs, that we are saving for next time. Major takeaways for me on this trip: - The weather in Colorado is kind of crazy. Storms come out of nowhere, last a little bit, then move on- and the

    Italy: Padua - Venice - Florence - Giudecca: June 6-13, 2017

Everytime I go, I am reminded how much I love Italy. For this Vacation/Trip (I'm classifying it as both- we did a good amount of relaxing as well as exploring), I was treated by my job for a few days, where I stayed in Padua, which is about a 30min drive west from Venice. It is also accessible by train from Venice (Padova is the name of the stop). Since I was with work, I didn't have a ton of time to explore the city- but from the 2 days I was there here are my takeaways: - i

    Welcome to My Travels!

There are 2 different types of traveling... Vacations and Trips. I'm a big tripper. Trips are go go go, exploring new places, maybe not relaxing much, but feeling exhilarated at the end of it all. Sometimes, even coming home and feeling like you need a vacation! Vacations are for relaxing- experiencing the culture of a new island, tasting the food, dancing and laughing, and spending time by a pool or beach. I'm getting better at vacationing as I get older, but I'm still a wor
